In each of the four big centres this year the university team has won the Rugby club championship. A new train which left Auckland for Papatoetoe this morning as a result of representations, took passengers. The Pakuranga Hunt Club went down £2741 10/ in totalisator figures, compared with their meeting last year. The A.J.C. meeting is being continued at Randwick to-day, the big events being the Breeders' Plate and the Metropolitan Handicap. The Auckland-owned, but Australianbred, Prince Humphrey, won the A.J.CI Derby on Saturday, beating the hitherto undefeated Mollison. Aulsebrooks' Auckland branch, in Beach Road, was broken into in the week-end. The back of the safe was cut out, and the contents, about £10, stolen. i Winalot dead-heated with Limerick in the Spring Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
