The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from its London office, dated September 28:— Butter. —New Zealand: Salted, 180/, ] 84-/, up to 186/; unsalted, 186/ to 196/; first gr-ade whey, 166/; second grade whey, ]6'2/. Deliveries New Zealand this week, 650 tons. In store. 4100 tons. Australian: Finest salted, 168/ to 174/; unsalted, 182/ to 188/. Argentine: Finest salted, 176/ to 182/. Irish creamery: Salted, 175/ to 378/; unsalted, 184/. Danish: Spot, 195/ to 196, ; f.0.b., 190/ to 191/. Dutch: Unsalted, 192/ to 194'. Estonian: Salted, 180/ to 182/; unsalted, 184/ to 186/. Latvian: 176/ to 180/. Siberian: 160/ to 162/. Ukranian: 164' to 168/. The butter market is quiet, except for unsalted, which is firm owing to short supplies. Retail prices are unchanged. The Turakina commenced to discharge butter on September 24. The Rotorua commenced to discharge butter on September 24. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: — Butter, New York, 48 cents (2/'); Montreal, 39Vi cents (1/7%). Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, have received the following cable from their London manager, under date September 29: — Butter. —Prices unchanged. METAL PRICES DEPRESSED

LONDON, September 29. Financial circles are closely watching the depression in metal prices. It is learned authoritatively that 90 per cent of the mines in the important Joplin zinc mining district of the United States have decided to close for one week per month.

LONDON WOOL SALES.

(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) IX)NDON. September 29. At the wool sales 9439 bales were offered, of which 3296 were Australian,, and 4179 New Zealand. There was a limited selection of Merinos, chiefly Western Australian, topmaking sorts, and a moderate offering of greasy crossbreds and slipes. There were rather more withdrawals than at the last two sales. Prices were unchanged. The following New Zealand clip brought the prices stated:— Clarence, PAA, top 37d, average 35d.
