Cut out all the heated air: Answer me this questionnaire. First —please moderate that rowAre you sound above the browV Is your cerebellum proof When you'd like to "hit the roof"? Can you with unruffled calm' Hid defiance to alarm. Even when domestic diss Irk you a la Mr. Jiggs? Can you balance in your bonce All the riv;il pros and cons Of Life's changing shadow show As its problems come and go? It' you can, I'll risk a quid You've got something 'neath your lid. But supposing—now. don't chafe— You are not, well—always safe; ! If you sometimes put your "dough" On a horse that's running slow; If you're numbered with the ginks Who are always mixing drinks; If your dearest hopes were dead When the- Springboks beat N. Zed; If you never strictly heed Laws which govern traffic speed; | If you ever risk your thatch Hunting gas-leaks with a match; If you murmur words of blood When you lose your collar stud; Then., my friend, you're on th list Of the morbid alienist. Still, it's no good getting wild! But it makes you reconciled When, somehow, instinctively, Common folk—like you and me— Segregate a few suspects When the countryside elects Men who'll sit up all the night Arguing till morning light Whether Labour or Reform ItfTlisplaying proper form.
