A SUCCESSFUL RELAY.
A description of the flight from Christchurch to Blenheim was broadcast from Wellington on relay from Blenheim, and was very successfully rebroadcasted from 111 y T ste^ day> the fli S h * being clearly followed. Announcements of the progress i ?\„ the pla "® Were . made, and then at p.m.. Here she comes," said the announcer, back of the aerodrome. Very very small at the present time. She is r gradually drawing closer. Now she has passed through a bank of cloud, and is clearly visible against the background of the blue sky. The crowd of 8000 is beginning to cheer. She is circling round the aerodrome, fairly low. Now (4.12 pm ) she is flying over the town. A very fine view for those in Blenheim—if anybody remains in Blenheim. She has passed right over Blenheim. Now she is quite distinct. Here she comes! She is still fljing \ery low. Now over the aerodrome. There is tremendous cheering. She is at the extreme western end of the runway. She is flying dead level over the gum trees at the far end. A beautiful turn, coming round to the runway. Making straight into the runway. Down she ■comes, gradually. A perfect landing at 4.20 p.m."
