"DITCHED."

HIS FIBST MISADVENTUBE.

ONE-LEGGED CYCLIST'S TOUR

| The one-legged Digger cyclist, Ri Heke, who set out on Saturday, as the result of a challenge, to ride round the North Island reached Hamilton on Wednesday evening, after experiencing heavy winds and rain on his journey, and being "ditched" on the way by a motorist of the inconsiderate variety.

Characteristic reference to the roadhog motorist is made by the Digger cyclist in his diary, which he wives in a special message to the "Star" from Hamilton as follows:—

"Left Auckland 11 a.m. Saturday 22— passed Otahuhu 11.30 —arrived Papakura 1 p.m. same day—rained all the way en route—left for Huntlv 24th—experienced head winds with bad roads and rain during this stage —was driven into a ditch by a motorist, who should be driving where Kingsford Smith flies, was drenched to the skin —arrived Huntly 4 p.m.—left again for Hamilton noon following day—reached there at 5 p.m.— rain all the way—leaving Hamilton tomorrow (Friday) for Te Kuiti, thence to New Plymouth—feeling 0.k., going strong, confident of success—general public treatment good en route."
