RELAY BY SUBMARINE CABLE,

The Radio Broadcasting Company has made arrangements for broadcasting reports of the return flight of the Soulh-j ern Cross to Australia. Station 3YA.J Christchurch. will relay a description of the aeroplane's departure from Sockburn 1 on Friday afternoon if the weather doe? not detain the flyer:-. Station 2YA Wel-i lington, will rebroadcast 3Y.VS description of the take-off. I
The report, of the arrival of the Southern Cr<»s will be relayed from Blenheim to station 2VA by submarine cable across Cook Strait. Tliis will be the first time a broadcast relay lias been undertaken in New /calami by pubmarine cable. The cable to be u-ed is that milUeif f'>r telephone calls between the North jiikl South Islands.
