A JOCKEY'S APPEAL.
KEESsIXG CASE .NEXT TUESDAY

WAXGAXUI, this day. The appeal lodged by E. A. Keesing, rider of Valkon in the Marangai Handicap, against his disqualification will be heard by the Wanganui District Committee on Tuesday next.
The Maran<rai Handicap, in which Vaikon ran third, was run on Thursday week. Subsequently the Judicial Committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club held an inquiry, and, after, hearing the evidence of. A. E. Cox (trainer), E. A. Keesing, (jockey) and W. Harper the committee was of. opinion that Valkon was itcft run on his merits and that Cox arid Keesing were guilty of corrupt praetk-e.. Both- were- disqualified for twelve months;, The> owner, Mr. P. G. Harper* (who ,wae not present on. the first d*y Ipf/the*, meeting) was exonerated ftom axif complicity in the matter.
