Imprisonment Of Natives For
Long Terms.
COURT SEQUEL.
APIA, September 26.
As a sequel to the recent fracas among Mau supporters concerning the wearing of high chiefs' head-dresses by chiefs also of the Mau, but of lower rank, which resulted in one death and one man being dangerously wounded with a knife, three natives were placed on trial yesterday.
Vala Pepeea, who was grievously wounded by Meauli, was sentenced to five years' imprisonment and Tuna to four years' imprisonment. Meauli was found not guilty of the murder of Neemia.

The delegation of three ministers from the London Missionary Society to the native Samoans, who have been sent in an endeavour to settle the political unrest as affecting religious matters, is due to arrive at Apia from London on Friday.

APIA, September 26. The firm of Burns. Philp, Limited, has purchased from the Administration a block of land of an area of a quarter of an acre, in the main street of Apia, Oil which is a. three-storey building, formerly the Central Hotel. The price paid is" £S.">o>.
