RIOT OF GAMBLING.
THRONGED FRENCH CASINO
High play at the casino of Le Touquet bids fair to establish new records for France during the 1928 season. Although the fashionable exodus from Paris dor* not begin until well in June, the casino has been crowded at all hours of the day and night, and great sums.have been won and lost.
Habitues declare that the patronage this year has been more cosmopolitan than ever. There have been several Indian princes and the picturesque members of a Greek gambling syndicate, who have made remarkable suns at the tables.
- So popular is the play that it is frequently possible to ?ee fashionable people in evening drese emerging from the casino at 9 o'clock in the morning after a long night of gambling. At 6 o'clock one morning every table wag filled, and people were standing five and. six deep behind the chairs of some of the heavy players.
