THAMES VALLEY WATER.
COMBINED SUPPLY SCHEME. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Wednesday. The ratepayers of Thames Valley met yesterday to hear an explanation by the chairman of the Thames County Council, Mr. H. Lowe, of the proposals for a water supply. He said, the council desired to alTord the settlers an opportunity to consider a combined scheme for the Wharepoa and Puriri districts. The settlers approved the proposal, and it was decided that the engineer should ascertain the settlers' needs and prepare an estimate of the cost.
At a further meeting of Hikutaia, it was decided to ascertain whether the ratepayers of Oliinemuri County may legally join the scheme. It was stated that the Thames County Council was willing to supply water to settlers outside its boundary. It was decided that the consent of the Ohinemuri County Council be obtained, and the engineer bring down a scheme to embrace the whole area.
