AKARANA YACHT CLUB. TIIIRTr-THrKD AXNUAL MEETING. The thdrty-third annual meeting of the Akarana Yacht Club -was held in the dub house, St. George's Bay, last evening. Commodore A. Braund presiding over aa attendance of over 50 members, including a number of ladies.

Tlie annual report submitted by the hon. secretary, Mr. Goo. Lay cock, stated that the past year bad been a srrenuous one. Kacing was carried out on live days, entries totalling o«U. Tlie past year would stand out in the history of the club by rea«>ii of the completion of the club house, which had beeu a long delayed want. Membership had increased, also the number of boats on the register, which, now included a largo proportion of keel yacht*?. Racing in thv small classes had fallen off. but it was hoped to pee an improvement in the coming sen son. Races for outboard motor boats were added to ih<.- programme, and proved very popular. The thanks ot the club were tendered to all who has assisted in. the building of the new home, and it was hoped the conveniences now provided would be appreciated. The balance sheet, submitted by the hon. treasurer. Mr. 11. Iloweli. showed receipts, including the building fund, totalling 5/y, the assets standing at £1500.

•The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, said it reflected credit on an -concerned, more especially that the club house had cost so little in cash, a great proportion of the work being done by volunteer labour. Mr. Braunil mentioned that only about £400 worth of debentures had "been taken up and made an appeal for more support in this direction.

The annual subscription was fixed at 5/; lady and junior members at 2/6. On the motion of Mr. Wilkinson, it ira« resolved that in every race for outboard boats the engines must he fitted with a standard muffler to be used withont alteration. Wbtre cut-outs are fitted to the engine, the same to be sealed before the start.

Meacrs. A. Braund. G. Criiotner and G. Miller were elected honorary life members in recognitton of their long and useful work for the club. Certificates were also presented to Messrs. Barry Hill end JS.'B. Webster, Ic4 previously been elected honorary life members. . •

Fourteen new members were elected, and a narnb*r «f trophie* promieed for th« coming season.
