THAMES
The Thames School Hoard granted the Hockey Association use of the school reserve for a sevpii-a-sIGe tournament on October 13. It was resolveo to authorise the holdinjr of a four days" camp for tinschool defence cadets on the sehooJ reservo later in the year. Intimation vas reeelveil from thp Education Department approving of a request for the appointment of an additional assistant from the beginning of the 3920 school ypar. Tl/e Department stronjriy recommended the adoption of a scheme of school dates for 1925«, -with lh<« object of securing synchronisation .of the holidays for school children and students.
HAURAKI PLAINS.
The Lands Drainage Department has advised the Hanraki United Drainage Board of the receipt of proposals for the expenditure of £2500, the main item in the echedule being the improTement of BagnaJTs drain and a new floodgate near the moufh. A report and recommendation wasfforwardedr rwarded to the Under-Secretary of lißiids. and a further proposal for the spending- of £850 had been received later. The department suggest? that the board should prepare a schedule covering , thf whole of the loan proposal for £(1500, and forward it to the Minister, applying for a subsidy on the full amount.
