The estate of the late Mr. J. H. Coleman, shcepfarmcr, of Napier, has been sworn at approximately £300,000. The greater part of the estate is left •to fnmily connections. A fine collection of painting and pictures is bequeathed to tlio Auckland Art Gallery. A sum of £50 annually is given to encourage rifle shooting, in which Mr. Coleman had always been interested, and sums of £100 a year are given to the Napier Salvation Army Home, Girls' Friendly Society, and Hawke's Bay Children's Home.
It is believed that deceased, who was during his lifetime a liberal contributor to charitable objects, expressed a wish that after his death the family should have the benefit of his estate. The majority of the residue is left to his daughter-in-law, daughter and grandchildren.
