FINED FOR FALSE ALARM.

DUNEDIX, Tuesday.

When returning from a dance about 12.30 a.m., Richard Rudder Pledger broke a fire alarm and so needlessly called out the brigade. He was under the influence of liquor. To-day he was fined £5 and costs, the magistrate saving Buch an offence could not be passed over lightly.
