SINS OF OMISSION.

i. sf i . a , ?rc " t Inan - V I*°P"e who are heartily tired of the "laissez faire" pohev rf the present Government and its "Mr Pacini? both-ways" head, I heartily welcome a Inaa of purpose and large vi«we in Sir Joseph Wart. We want men of decision an- , enterprise m our present crisis. What but the Government's ineptitude forced the Australian airmen to first of all choose Christchurch as their objective, intead of Auckland, the largest, nearest and far the most important city in the Dominion? Some four years ago the Government purchased some 200 acres of level land at Hobsonville, just seven miles from the general pose office, for an air base. With their usual dilatorincss it has been neglected until quite recently, when most feverish haste has been displayed, unfortunately too late for the famous airmen to use it. Again, when a work so important as the harlmur bridge is desired by everyone, a work which, besides its national importance as a main highway, would absorb all our unemployed, the" present "wait and sees" in office have not the courage and foresight to assist the project. SILVERTOX.
