FADING RED REFLECTORS.
" USELESS ACCESSORY."
TARANAKI MOTORISTS' OPINIONS
The red reflector on his ear had faded from a ruby rose colour to a delicate pink and the only reflection it made was on the manufacturer of it, commented Dr. Adamson at the Taranaki Automobile Association last week. The price had been "outrageous," but the public had been forced to buy because the reflectors were '"official." The reflectors even when they were of good colour were of little use to motorists. They were always the last thing to be seen by an approaching motorist. Reflections from bright points of a car made the official reflector indisguishable.—Mr. Duff said that the usefulness of reflectors had been recognised at the North Island Motor Union Cohferference and the union was approaching the Government on the matter. It was hoped that the present useless accessory would not be kept compulsory. "Sparkwell's" protest against this unccessary expense, made in this column two weeks ago, has been reprinted in eeveral Southern papers and favourably commented on.
