Half a length each way. Time, 1.35. Winner trained by H. Hastedt, Ellerslie. TO BE SCHOOLED. In the hope of getting him to come solid S. Hodge intends to give Nassock a course of jumping over hurdles. The Nassau—Cossack gelding is now in his fifth year and still a hack, which means that his record to date is far from attractive. Prior to the Avondale meeting Nassock was galloping sufficiently well in his work to encourage the belief that he would be dangerous, but he failed to show up. A course of schooling has often brought about a big improvement in horses and maybe it would do so for Nassock.
