FORGED EMPLOYER’S CHEQUE.
AFTER Hl* DISMISSAL. YOUNG MAN FOR SENTENCE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMIT,TON, this day. A young man nam oorge Edward Nelson, alias George vard Bernsee, pleaded guilty to-day to the forging of two cheques, of the total value of £2 13/4. He had been employed by a farmer, Mr. George Wanhill. of Ngahinepouri. On being diemieeef ’ e met a cream carrier, who had been entrusted by Mr. Wanhill with two letters for the post. He obtained possession of the letters, saying ho would post them, but 1 instead he opened them and extracted I the cheques, on which ho forged the I eignatunsa of the payees. Ho cashed 1 the cheques and made a purchase with ■ the money. ■ It was stated that other charges are ■ pending in Dannevirke and New Ply- ■ MBr ■ W lURG
