NAVY LIMITS.
The opinion is expressed that the reply probably will set forth that a definite expression of opinion by the United States is impossible in the absence of more explicit information from Britain and France about the character of the accord they have reached.
It is understood that the United States Government does not approve any limitation of 10,000 ton ships, and the building without limit of cruisers and submarines of smaller sizes. It has now become a more open question than ever whether the United States will be represented at the next session of the Preparatory Commission on Disarmament at Geneva, and if so, whether her attendance will be more than perfunctory. Officials of the State Department declined to comment upon the dispatch from Paris, published in the Hearst papers.
