BOXING.
MONDAY'S TOURNAMENT. McINWES AND MO3SSON FIT. One of the best fights seen in Auckland for some time should result from the meeting of Tommy Melnnes (Scotland) and Ted Monson (Australia), in the Town Hall on Monday evening. Both middle - weights have been training hard for the conteat, and as both are forceful fighters there should be action all the way. When the pair met some months ago Mclnnes got the decision on points but Monson has improved since then and now holds the Commonwealth middle-weight title. Monson proved that he carries a weighty punch by knocking out Lachie McDonald, who recently ecored a narrow win over Mdnnes, although he twice had to strike his colours to McDonald, losing on points. The amateur bouts arranged are:— Paper-weight, Hogg v. Myers; light heavy-weight, O'Sullivan v. Mullins; light-weight, Karim v. Gunn; bantamweight, Bailey v. Johns.
