A FOOLISH WOMAN.
INFATUATED BY BLACKSMITH. PATS HIS HOTEL BUJU SEQUEL TO MAINTENANCE CASE. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") WANGANTJI, this day. A unique case came before Mr. Barton, S.M., ths morning, when Robert Stent, a blacksmith, was charged with failing to maintain his wife and four children. He was in hospital for. a, time," and after coming out left his wife and children destitute, with no furniture in the house and sleeping on the floor. He cleared out to New Plymouth with a young woman named * Kathleen M&Fadgen. The latter was charged with aiding and abetting him. After hearing evidence in the maintenance case the magistrate said that Kathleen McFadgen had foolishly become infaturated with accused, even to the extent of buying his clothes and paying his hotel bills. He suggested that the police offered no evidence against her. Stent told the. Court that he went away to recuperate, so that he would be able to provide for his familv, with whom he had not been living for over a year. Sentence in his case was deferred till Tuesday.
