NEW DUNEDIN THEATRE.
SUCCESSFUL OPENING NIGHT. Information has been received from Dunedin that the opening last night of the New Empire Theatre (Thos. O'Brien Theatres, Ltd.) was unexpectedly successful. A packed audience was astounded with the magnitude and impressiveness of the theatre. The principal number on the programme was the screening of "Faust," and the audience was delighted at the work of the orchestra in rendering the music of the popular opera on which the picture is based. The "show," it is stated, went without a hitch.
