BURKE. —Sapper Jack Burke, killed on Somme, September 22. Sweetest of memories are all that are left Of a loving brother, one of the best. Inserted by his loving brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Nance. SKELLON. —In loving memory of my dear son Thomas Hundley Skellon, died of wounds received in the Somme battle, September 21, 1026. I was not there to see you die, Or hear your last faint sigh, Or even to say good-bye. Or what the farewell cost. Mother. SKELLON. —In loving memory of my dear brother, Thomas Handley Skellon, who fell lit the Somme battle, September 21, 1016. Far away In France he lies, Asleep beneath the sunny skies, No one near to shed a tear. Belonging to him ever dear. Inserted by his loving brother, also sisters, Hastings, Avondale and Auckland.
