RECOGNITION OF SERVICE.
A PRESENTATION MADE
A thanksgiving social was held on Wednesday night at Beresford Street Congregational Church on account of the fact that the people had raised £4000 toward the cost of erection of the new Sunday school buildings. The Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher presided over a large gathering. Advantage was taken of the opportunity to recognise the long and faithful service rendered to the Church by Mr. Charles E. Campbell, who has for 30 years 'been a deacon, and for 25 years carried out the onerous duty of treasurer. Sir . George Fowlds, on behalf of the members, presented to Mr. and Mre. "Campbell a handsome grandfather's clock, bearing a silver plate suitably inscribed. Mrs. Campbell wa& also handed a fine bouquet. Sir George referred to the arduous nature of duties of a treasurer, wihich had been so ably performed by Mr. Campbell ih lean years and fat ones. Reference was also made to toe genial and unassuming personality of Mr. Campbell.
