EXPRESS TRAIN RUNNING.

LIMITED ARRIVES 5.30

TO-NIGHT.

Both expresses which left Auckland last evening were hung up north of the scene of the accident where the Limited was due at about 6.30 a.m., and. the ordinary express about 9 a.m. respectively this morning. Passengers and were transferred by motor vehicles to Palmerston, where trains were joined for Wellington. The ordinary express from Auckland last night was held at Bunnythorpe to bring passengers by this afternoon's 2 o'clock express from Wellington to Auckland, and is due here at the usual time, 6.40 a.m., to-morrow. The Limited express from Auckland was turned round at Bunnythorpe this morning, and is bringing passengers by last night's Limited from Wellington to A\ickland, and is due to arrive here at 8.30 this evening. This train left Marton at 9.40 a.m. with 150 passengers. She is due at Frankton Junction at 5.45 p.m., having stopped at Ohakune, en route, for lunch. The two expresses from Auckland will be dispatched at the usual time this evening, and it is expected that they will have a clear run to Wellington. In regard to the Limited express to Wellington this evening, however, arrangements have been made to convey passengers who have booked sleeping berth to Frankton in day cars. When the up Limited arrives at that station at 5.45 p.m. the sleeping cars will be taken off, cleaned and reconditioned in readiness to be placed on the down Limited at Frankton at 9.28 p.m. for the convenience of those passengers who have booked berths. The accident which caused the trouble on the Main Trunk occurred at about 7.39 p.m. yesterday. The train had left Wanganui at 4.12 p.m., and was due at Palmerston North at 7.57 p.m. The site of the accident was near the Hume Pipe Co.'s siding, two miles 76 chains north of Palmerston North. '■
