I wir-h to correct a mistake that has appeared in your paper with reference to my remarks on being interviewed on the result of the recent ease at Whunsrarei. 1 was reported as saying that tlie police had not put the ca.-e fairly. I did not intend to convey that im predion. The police at Wliangarei were perfectlv fair, so much so that my counsel. Mr. Fleming, complimented them in Court <>n their fairness. Indeed. 1 have nothing but praise for the -plendid police force of this eo pit ry.
