THE TAURANGA CLUB.
TAURAN'GA, Thursday
At the annual meeting of the Taurang.i Rowing Club held last evening the report showed that the past season had been very successful. The plant -ad additions made to it at a cost of over £50. At the various regattas the crews acquitted themselves with credit. The funds had benefited by regatta donations totalling £61. The hope was expressed that with the railway now operating there would be larger entries for the Tasranga Kegatta, provided adequate donations were offered for the rowing events. The season opened with a debit balance of £55, and this has been reduced to £19. The plant, shed and fittings were valued at £295. Officers were elected as follows :—Patron, Dr. J. B. MacDiarmid; president, Mr. D. A. Ivory; hon. auditor, Mr. B. P. Andrews; captain, Mr. C. Tonkin ; vice-captain, Mr. C. Haua; secrptary. Mr. E. J. Gifford; treasurer, Mr. W. Turner; judge, Mr. W. S. Harris; committee, captain, vice-captain, secretary, treasure* 1 and Messrs. G. Lindell, N. Campbell, J. Berridge. R. T. Goulding, \V. Dennlston, J. Fenn, F. Bickers; selection committee, captain and Messrs. li. T. Goulding and W. Turner. Thirteen new members were elected. Mr. P. F. Carter, of Auckland, was elected a life member in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the club. It was announced that Mr. W. S. Harris had donated another cup for competition among trial pairs. The president announced that he would donate a set of blazers for competition among trial fonrs. The chairman then presented the trophies won last season.
