CARE OF BRISTOL FIGHTERS.

REFUELLING AT IHUMATAO. PREPARING FOR SUNDAY'S FLIGHT. The three Bristol fighters in which the trans-Tasmau flyers arrived in Auckland .yesterday morning, are being refuelled and generally tuned up at Ihumatao preparatory to the visitors taking off for Wellington on Sunday. The machines are fenced off at the temporary aerodrome, and are being given careful attention by four mechanics. A few people have visited the 'drome since yesterday to inspect the planes, but the general body of the public is more interested in the Tasmai conquerors themselves. It is not likelj that any trips will be made in the planer prior to the take-off on Sundav. Information to this effect was giver by Major L. M. I3itt, officer in charge o the Auckland air base, this morning who did not accompany Squadron-Leade Kingsford Smith and his colleagues t< Rotonia. He also paid a tribute to tb (•\cellent manner in which the traffic am police departments handled the tremen dous crowds of people and cars that con '•nitrated on Ihumatao on Tuesday am Wednesday. He was very pleased, h *-nid, with the work that was carrie< «nt both at the aerodrome and on tb roalls leading to it.
