AUCKLAND ELECTIONS. TWO CHAIRMEN DEFEATED. MANUREWA AND WAIUKC. The biennial election of members of town boards was held yesterday. The poll for the election of a representative of the Glen Eden and Henderson town districts on the Waitemnta Power Board resulted in Mr. W. R. Leigh ton, with 664 votes, returned. In the contest for the office of representative of the Tuakau Town District on the Franklin Power Board, the sitting member, Mr. G. Arrowsmlth, was returned with 107 votes, his only opponent, Mr. C. A. Ryder, polling 105. Of 456 people on the roll, 310 voted. WAIUKU. Successful.—C. Buttimore, 314; A. James, 301; B. C. Ward, 202; J. Andrew, 258; H. M. Barriball, 252; H. Flavell, 251; H. Duthie, 229. Unsuccessful.—W. L. 22,5. Mr. West was chairman ot the old hoard', and Messrs. James and Andrew were members. Is the election of-a representative'of the Waiuku Town District on • the Franklin Power Board, Mr. W. Hosking, with 223 votes, was elected, defeating the sitting representative, Mr. West, who oolled 151 votes. MEBCEB. Successful.—C. Roose, 84; A. J. Bourne, 73; A. Glass, 72; F. J. Freeborn, 88; E. B. Morey, 08. Unsuccessful.—H. Gordon, 56; J. Walte, 83. Mr. Glass was the only member of the retiring board to seek re-election. The roll comprised 176 names, and 105 ratepayers voted. LEAMINGTON.
