When a traffia inspector sees a car with a certain number plate going at a dangerous speed in Khyber Paps, and issues a summons to the name registered as the owner, it must be a surprise to be informed when the case come' before the Court that on the day in question the car was in a garage :»t Katikati, where also the defendant was working. That was the case this morning. A man named Frank Smith was charged at the Magistrate's Court with dangerous driving. His counsel produced letters from the vicar and other resident? at Katikati stating that both defendant and his car were at that place on the date mentioned. The Bench decided under the circumstances to dismiss the information, but did not allow costs to defendant, who had to come from Katikati.
