FRONT BENCH CHANGES. Hill JOSEPH MOVES UP. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. There was a significant change in the front-bench Opposition seating arrangements when the House of Representatives met this afternoon. It was seen that Sir Joseph Ward, the newly elected leader of the United Party, had moved up from the extreme corner near the gangway to the central seat formerly occupied by Mr. Forbes, leader of the Nationalists, who had in turn moved to the corner seat near the gangway. As the Opposition elements usually place their most prominent figures in front, a survey of that part of the House is interesting. Commencing,from the end neareet Mr. Speaker, there is Mr. E. J. Howard, Christchurch South, who has with him in the same bench. Mr. M. J. Savage, deputy leader of the Labour party in Parliament. The next seat is shared between Mr. H. E. Holland (leader of the Opposition) and Mr. P. Fraser (Wellington Central). On their left hand come Sir Joseph Ward (in Mr. Forbes' old place), and Mr. T. M. Wilford (Hutt), a member of the United party, and a former Liberal Minister. The final Opposition front bench contains Mr. Atmore (Nelson), always a declared i independent, but now appearing as if he, too, had come -within the orbit of the new party, as he enjoys the company of Mr. Forbes.
