CLERKS JOIN UNION.

WELLINGTON TRAMWAY DEMANDS.

(By Telegragh.—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Tramway clerks have taken action of a kind unusual with men m their way of life. Some time ago they asked for payment for Sunday work and other concessions, but their requests were not granted. Then they joined the Tramway Employees? Union, and the City Council's Tramway Committee agreed to reconsider their case. It appears that the clerks work on alternate Sundays, making a week of 53 hours and 48 hours in rotation. They have not been paid in the past for their work on Sundays, or for public holidays.
