CITY VALUATION, 1908-1909.
. INCREASE OF £31,542. • The City Valuer (Mr. E. Hickling) has ! submitted a report to the Town Clerk j (Mr. H. W. Wilson), showing the rateable value of the City of Auckland for the year 1908-1909 at £506,232. ( The returns for the previous period, ■3907-1908, fixed the valuation at ' £474,690, thus showing an, increase for 1 the year 1908-1909 of £31,542. The • increase, which last year stood at ■* £34,112, represents a slight falling" off '' on this, occasion, but shows, on the * whole, that the progress of the city '' continues unabated. * The figures for the 1 ensuing year are, of course, subject to * revision by the Assessment Court. ;
