A very old and much esteemed. resident of Kingsland, Mrs. James Page, died at the residence of her son, Mr. Charles yesterday. Mrs. Page came to "New Zealand with her husband and family in the ship Portland in 1564. just at the close of the Maori war. Mr. Page, who carried on business as a builder, predeceased his wife by about 15 years. After passing through the troubles incidental to early arrivals in a new country, Mrs. Page had the pleasure of spending the evening of her days in quietude, and when death came it was simply the natural outcome of old age, she being in her S9th year. She leaves two married daughters, residing in Sydney, Mrs. Roebuck and Mrs. Willdigg, and three sons in Auckland, namely, Mr. George Page (builder), Mr. Charles Page (builder), and Mr. A. W. Page, of Kingsland.
