THE CONSTANCE CRAIG.
NAUTICAL, INQUIRY. (By Telegraptu—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. A nautical inquiry into the loss of the barque Constance Craig was -neld this "morning before Mr Barton, S.M., Captains Ware, and Must. Evidence was given by Mr Hawley, Collector of Customs, Captain Cumming, Harbourmaster, Captain Chrisp, and E. J. Chrisp, managing owner, as to the seaworthiness of the vessel prior to her departure from this port. The finding of the court was that the ship sailed from Gisborne on July 15, and, as she had not been seen or heard of since, the Court is of opinion she was lost at sea on or about July 15, that the said ship left port in sand ballast, and that at the time of her departure was seaworthy, and well found in all respects.
