DESERVING CAUSES.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln reading to-night's "Star," I see some of our citizens have been very, generous in-giving towards the V.M.C.A. Building" Fund. What a comparison it affords alongside the Orpaan Home. It seems to mc where help is needed most such as for poor widows left with little children and for orphans, money is not so readily obtained. As for the V.M.C.A. it has a splendid building, and I am sure just as good work can be done there without a lot of unnecessary expense in erecting a better one. Give the money where it is most needed to make some poor homeless creatures happy.—l am, etc, SYMPATHISER OF THE POOR.
