(From Our Own Correspondent.) A social was held on Friday night last ln the Public Hall, in connection with the Otahuhu Convent. There was a fair attendance, and euchre was indulged in till ten o'clock, after which dancing was kept up till midnight. Messrs W. Kyle and C. Wren acted as MX.'s, and the music was supplied by Mr Levy's band. The ladies' committee provided supper. At a recent meeting of the Manukau Electorate Temperance Association, the delegate appointed to attend the Colonial Convention lately held at Wellington, gave a very encouraging report. He stated that the bare majority question was carried by 62 votes to __. The question of colonial option was ; . -also discussed. A- football match, Auckland Gas Co.'s Office v. Company's Works, was played on Saturday afternoon in Mr J. Todd's paddock, Otahuhu.
