RAGLAN ITEMS.
RAGLAN, August 16. The adjourned annual meeting of the Te Mata Co-operative Dairy Company was held on Monday last in the Te Mata Public Hall, a large number of shareholders being present. Mr. W. H. Bankart, chairman of directors, presided. The balance-sheet' showed an Increase of 20 per cent on milk supplied over last season. The milk received for the season was 1,790,2101b, and the butter fat made was 75,2701b. From each pound of butter fatl-lllb of butter was made. From a surplus of £654 17/6 on the year's.working, a further sum of 3d per lb for butter fat supplied during the months of September and May, and 2d per lb for the remainder of the season, was paid, making the total for butter fat for the season 9.530. The average price per pound of butter was 10.67 d. The "cost of manufacturing the butter was I.2Sd, an increase of .03d as compared with last year. £20 was voted to the manager and assistant. The balance-sheet was adopted as read. A bonus of £20 was voted to the chairman of directors in appreciation of his services. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Cornllle, who had retired from the directorate. There have been three vacancies for directors, and Messrs. Bankart, Phillips, and R. Vernon were elected. Mr. H. Marsland -was apointed auditor for the ensuing year.
A meeting of the Te Uku Anglican Church Committee was held on Saturday last. The people's warden, Mr. F. J. L. Scott, presided. Correspondence was received from the vicar and diocesan secretary re the cemetery, when it was decided that the people's warden should take the necessary steps to have the cemetery registered.
The annual meeting of the Raglan and Kawhia A. and P. Association was held on Saturday last at the "Chronicle" Office, the following being present: Messrs. A. L. Pegler (president), H. S. Gibson, W. H. Moore, W. J. Smith, W. Armstrong, A. Kyngdon, A. Moon, G. H. Moon, A. Gllmour, A. E. Belcher, F. W. Green, and Dr. Sanders. The president stated that the sub-committee appointed to go into the advisability of the Association disposing of their sections with frontages to Bow and Green streets had recommended that they be either leased or sold, sufficient room being left to construct a road through their property. On the motion of the president, it was decided that a special meeting be held on August 24 to consider the committee's report. The statement of accounts showed that the receipts for the year amounted to £125 2/9½; expenditure £123 5/5½, leaving a balance of £1 17/4 to be carried forward. For the ensuing year strong and representative officers were elected, of which Mr. H. W. Bankart was elected president, and Mr Allen Gllmour secretary and treasurer.
