THE WRECKED INGEBORG.
HOW THE CAPTAIN KEPT HIS WORD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. - Wlile the harque Ingehorg was at Punedin, the captain (Herr Schmidt) told Mr. Moller, the Danish Consul, that Gottfriedson was well connected in Copenhagen, and that his father was captain of a steamer trading between the Danish capital and Reykjavik (capital of Iceland). Just before the Ingeborg left the Kattegat for Marseilles, Schmidt received a letter from Captain Gottfriedson asking him to keep an eye on his lad. The cables show how faithfully the trust was executed.
The principal owner of the lost vessel was F. Hem, of Odeuse, the quaint old capital of Qunen, but Captain Schmidt had an eighth share in her. She was insured for £4000, the captain's share in the insurance being £600. Captain Schmidt's two sisters live three miles out of Copenhagen.
