SYDNEY WOOL STORE ON FIRE.

SYDNEY, August 15. At 11.30 to-night a fire was reported in one of the wool stores at Woolloomooloo Bay. Apparently it had obtained a good hold.

The fire last night occurred in the Union Oil Engine Company's works, which were completely destroyed. A large quantity of petrol and a number of launches and boats were burnt. FEDERAL MEMBERS' SALARIES. MELBOURNE, August 15.

The bill increasing members' allowances was read a second time on the voices. In committee the allowances of members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate were fixed at £500.
