knife. She was not present, but on entering the room saw Madame-Levin lying dead on the floor.
Her husband, she added, was covered with blood. • He implored her to aid him to avert all suspicion. He -was too drunk to begin cutting up the remains. This was done next day.. The woman said' she was unable to explain why her husband committed the murder.
