McKenzie and Lovelock's (Palmerston North) Lincoln hoggets averaged £4/5/1; Romneys, £2/11/7. W. Nixon s Leicesters averaged £4/12/9. DISHONEST COUNCIL CLERK. (Received 10.47 a-m.) SYDNEY, this day. Glass-Op, the defaulting Council clerk of Ashfield (Sydney), and recently arrested in New Zealand, has been sentenced to eighteen months' hard labour. THE MATT, SYNDICATE. (Received 10.47 am.) MELBOURNE, this day. A representative of the Mail Syndicate is willing to lodge an additional £25,000 security, provided the Federal Government does not penalise, the syndicate in 'that amount if the Victorian Parliament fails to satisfy and to guarantee the interest.
