THAMES OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION.

The first of a series or winter re-'tmlons was held tn the Federal Club Booms last evening by the Thames Old Boys , ' Association, the president, Mr. W.. Blomfield, being in the chair. Apologies for unavoidable ebsence-were received from the Mayor (Mr. A/ M..'Myers), Mr. C. (J. Parr, .and other old boys of-the Thames. The gathering was of. the happiest, a most convivial evening being spent by the thirty, odd members present, with the aid-of song, jest,' £iid story. Among" the toasts honoured were the loyal one of "The King," proposed bj the president; "Old Thames Boys," proposed by the president and "responded to by Mr. W. W. Otter and Mr. Thos. Aitken; and "Municipal and Parliamentary Representatives," proposed by. Mr. A. Greenslade, and responded to by Mr. 'John. Farre'l (Mayor of Grey Lynn)- and Mr. Ernest Deeble. • ; ' Mr.'Farrell spoke of the feeling.of-good fellowship engendered by eticb, an Institution as their Association, and urged that its scope should be enlarged as much as possible. There were a great many old Thames boys, in fact, who did not fcnow of its existence, and he . recommended that they ehonld circularise all those with whom they could get in- touch. ■Mr. , Deeble referred to the enterprise of the Old Boys in promoting the interests of .the Thames. It ,was their action In. regard to the deep levels that had spurred the Minister to do much more , than wa« originally intended. The people of . the Thames, .greatly,, appreciated; this active and practical interest, and Its results had helped to stimulate the "Association to 'further efforts. Herr Blitz, Herbert, Johnson, Mincher, 'Bprt Sanndere,' J- Kn■dean.'E. Deeble. and the Eroica Quartet party", a.particularly enjoyable evening being brought to a close with "Old' Lang Syne."
