DREADNOUGHT CRUISERS.
rNTZTEXTBIiE LAUNCHED. LONDON, June 27. H.M.S. Inflexible has been launched at Clydebank. [The Inflexible, Invincible, and Indomitable are three sister cruisers of practically Dreadnought armament, the true nature of which was only allowed to transpire when they were more than half constructed. These vessels, laid down in 1905, carry their eight 12-inch guns in four barbettes, so disposed that all eight guns can fire on either broadside, and six ahead or astern. They can thus hring as many and as heavy guns to bear as the Dreadnought. They are considerably inferior to her, however, in armour protection. Their engines are of the turbine type, and they will have four screws and two rudders, like the Dreadnought. Japan, is building four of these vessels, and Germany one. The Indomitable is building at Fairfield, ana , the Invincible (briilt as Elswick), like the Inflexible, has already been launched.]
