Bellonse of Commons Committee has iqetted the London County Council's Xstßeetrical Energy Bill, representing iieTiBSS of the Moderate party on the jOT&nnciL • -p&e eleefcrical scheme of last year ■was the most expensive project on the programme of the L.C.C., and was a sort of eocmterblast to an effort by a private Mmpany to buy out the thirteen esisting electric companies in the Metropolis, and run the whole supply as a monopoly. The L.C.C. Bui aimed also at buying out existing interests, and inaugurating its own supply at an initial cost of some 5 millions sterling. The modification of the scheme 'oy the Moderates allowed of a more gradual development towards complete municipal ownership.!
