WAIHI MINING SCHOOL.
(By Telegraph-—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Mr G. Fairfield, A-MJ., E.O, who has been appointed temporary resident electrical engineer-to the Auckland City Council, has resigned the position of lecturer on electrical engineering at the Waihi, "thames, KarangaJiake,' and Wai-Vi-n'n" schools" of mines. At "the monthy"meeting of the School of Mines Council last night the director reported that the number of students at present attending- was -272, and the total class attendance "206. The question ofappointing an assistant was considered, but it was decided not to make a permanent appointment _ until .the._ scheme for the technical. school has been further developed. . In the meantime, il the present large attendance is maintained, temporary "assistance -Will be obtained at" the beginning of next term.
