'•IRISH WIT AND HUMOUR-' 5 Under the auspices of the Onehunga. Catholic Young >Msu's 'Clufcj, the (Very Rev. Dean Hacfcett (by special request) delivered his interesting and instructive lecture on "Irish Wit and Humour" m tne Public Hall last night, before a good audience. Long before the time of opening the crowds assembSa, and by S o'clock tne hall 'was well ailed. The lecture was divided Into four parts, and Miss Gallagher and Sir J Rowe delivered vocal items, which were highly appreciated and applauded, an encore in each case following. The Dean kept his audience in a good mood, and the appreciation of the lecture was signalled by roars of laughter and applause. A tctj fiearty vote 'of thanks was parsed to Dean Hackett for his lecture. Before dispersing the audience, at the request : of. Dean Hackett, sana the National Anthem, Gpd Save the King."
