In the House of Commons yesterday, many further questions were asked a= to why the proposed Transvaal loan is more favoured by the Government than the loans of other colonies. Mr. Churchill made no definite reply. Captain Craig asked whether the Government would guarantee a loan to develop the British interests in New Hebrides, provided the islanders consented to the deleLiun of the clauses in the Anglo-French Convention relating to the employment of children from sunrise to sunset with only one hour's rest.
