AMUSEMENT.
THE HUMAX HEAKTS COMPANY. What is described as one of the most sympathetic plays of modern times, entitled 'Tinman Hearts.' , will be presented under Mr. Edwin Geat-h's management on Thursday night next at His Majesty's Theatre, for a season of nine nights. Tbe source of the work is America ; where for the last twelve yeare it ha& proved not only a wonderful attraction, but distinctly one of the most beautiful and thrilling of present daY dramas. Mr. .T. C. Williamson's American representatives purchased the play for the "Squaw Man" Company, out in view of the necessities of a special cast, by arrangements entered into between Mr. J. C. Williamson and Mr. Edwin Geach, the rights of the play were transferred to Mr. Geael), who immediately organised the present company, import ing special artists from England and America to perform their original parts. Special scenery has been painted by Mr. J. G. Coleman to American models. In the lead will be one of the most capable artists, in the person of Mr. Ernest Leicester, ■who will play the part of Tom Logan, which he originally created in the English production. Of Mr. Leicester much has beea'Jrritten, and he is universally acclaimed* as one of the handsomest heroic actors of his time. Mr. George R. Montford, the villain ot the piece, is likewise known for his good looks, his toe dressing, and his all-round excellence. Miss Valentine Sidney, the- leading lady, brings with her a reputation for strong emotional work. Mr. A. Lawton and Miss Aggie Grey will perform the parts they recently played in the original English production. Other engagements are Mesdames Eva Guiiaford Quin and Mt. C. M. Berkeley (J. C. Williamson's companies), little Alma Palmer, a dainty little lady oi exceptional talent, and Mr. Dandas Walker, a. strong character actor. "With a.-play of such eseellmt credentials, and a fine star company, the public of Auckland will anticipate a decided dramatic treat. Mr. G. Martin Jones will conduct the orchestra.
