PRIMITIVE METHODISTS.
CENTEWARY CAMP. ATTENDED BT SIXTY THOUSAND. LONDON, May' 27. Primitive Methodists to the number lof 60.000 assembled on Sunday on top ;of Mole Cop, a lonely highland on tue borders of Cheshire and Staffordshire, to celebrate the centenary of the sect. [It was at Mole Cop. a few miles to the south of Congleton, on the Cheshire border of Staffordshire, thai Hugh Bourne and his co-founder, William Clowes, held their first camp, in May, 1807. The special feature of Prini Live Methodism in those days was the holding of open-air services, and thus it was that a camp was the medium of inauguration. A full centenary account of the rise of the sect will be found in the "Star" supplement of Saturday.]
